The club provides regular articles for the Rollestonian and has members in the village. It therefore seemed appropriate to reproduce them here (and any other news) for those interested in this local club.
Winter 2014 News

On Friday 21st November we are holding a floral demonstration by Ian Lloyd. Extraordinary flowers… no ordinary florist, Ian has been voted one of the country’s top ten florists by The Independent newspaper. With his exacting standards and expertise he will provide a demonstration of arrangements for club members and guests at Tutbury Village Hall to thrill us all. From flower arrangements in castles and stately homes, to cruise boats or private parties and anniversaries Ian’s displays have graced them all. This event is not to be missed, nor is the chance to possibly win the arrangements forming a part of the night’s raffle. Tickets are available from Mrs Glen Price , 01283 815082, at £9.50 which includes a glass of wine or juice and a mince pie. Come one and all to see Ian’s magic entitled “Cheshire Christmas”.

Summer 2014 News

Our next event takes place on Wednesday 11th June, at Tutbury Institute, High Street, Tutbury. Commencing at 7.30 pm, it will be a flower arranging workshop where all will be able to show their skills or otherwise.
9th July will feature a demonstration by Sandra Gunner entitled “Magic Moments” this is sure to prove a popular evening and all are welcome to attend. Some lucky members and guests may win one of Sandra’s arrangements in our raffle.
We also are pleased to announce that the DaleDiva Choir will be performing for us on July 11th at Tutbury Village Hall. This is for our annual charity event, for the Air Ambulance, which we hope will be well supported. Tickets at £8.50 each, to include refreshments, are available from Mrs Glen Price 01283 815082.
13th August will again be a workshop, with various arrangements.
Admission to our demonstrations and workshops at Tutbury Institute, all of which commence at 7.30 pm, is £4 payable at the door, or why not join the club for £20 per year and make the second Wednesday of every month a night out. We are a small friendly group and always welcome new members whatever talents you may have!
Spring 2014 News

Tutbury Flower Club held their Annual General Meeting in January at which time we were pleased to welcome Rick and Jane Nuth, from Tutbury War Memorials Preservation Committee our chosen charity of last year. Whilst our main fund raising event had to be cancelled at short notice through illness, we were nonetheless able to present them with a cheque for £500. This sum being raised through club events and the kind donations from two club members.
Forthcoming events include on 12th March a flower arranging demonstration by Linda Smith, entitled “Amazing Places”
9th April we shall be holding one of our flower arranging workshops, an event with lots of laughs.
14th May another demonstration themed “Car Boot Collection” by Lynne Wright. Admission to the above events, which are held at Tutbury Institute, High Street, Tutbury and commence at 7.30pm, is £4 at the door, or why not join the club for £20 per year and make the second Wednesday of every month a night out. Act on those New Year’s resolutions and try something new for 2014. We are a small friendly group and always welcome new members whatever talents you may have, some of us still can’t put a flower in straight, others are quite good!
