Rollestonbury10 Rocked
After a week of rain and cloud the sun shone, the wind dropped and the stage was set. ROLLESTONBURY10 bought a show of music and warmth to the Village on Saturday night.
The evening began with “Retro Roadshow” warming the crowd up with family fun and entertainment. The Retro team got the kids up and dancing and complete with various games and challenges they were certainly kept entertained.
It was really nice to see so many families come along with picnics and enjoy the night, the kids had enough room to play and someone even had a curry brought in, but that what the event was aimed at, a family night of fun and music.
Then came the highlight of the evening “Spooky Fish”. Its there second time with us at ROLLESTONBURY, and with a new set list the performance was superb, everything from the kinks to the Kings of Leon, to Bon Jovi belted out over the field and by the end of the night the stage lights lit up the field and everyone was dancing. Their set saw not only those on the bouncy castles bouncing, but those in the audience too!.
This popular annual event hosted by Rolleston Scout Group, is put on in order to raise funds for the children in Scouting to take part in climbing, canoeing, foreign expeditions and much, much more, offers a fantastic, fun and friendly night out for everyone and is back next year. It certainly is one of our favourite ways to raise funds.
ROLLESTONBURY will return on Saturday 16th July 2011. It will stay in much the same format but with a change of the main band. We have booked Brian Kite, a local group, for a fantastic sixtys night. So you have a year to get ready, dress up and I hope to see you then.
I would like to finish by saying thank you very much to all the team who helped put this show well and truly on the map. This is our third year and its an event that is set to stay.
An especial thanks to Andy Jennings of AR Jennings Transport for supplying the stage and Practical van hire for there support.
See you next year
