Well we have had a great start to the year for the de Ferrers PSFA!

The Year 7 Friends and Family Bingo Night in Sept was well attended and the high street gift voucher prizes went down a treat. Thanks to everyone who came and supported this event!

A Quiz Night was held on Friday 14th October. A total of 17 teams turned out with a good mix of Adult, 6th form and KS4 entries. Mr Aston’s team Ken Dodd’s Dogs Dead won the Adult prize, The Toms won the 6th form prize and Dumbledore’s Army won the KS4. We Thought It Was a Barn Dance should have won the fancy dress prize – except there wasn’t one this year! Thanks again to everyone who came along and in particular to our Quiz Master Ian McDonald and his trusty helpers.

We have a Murder Mystery Night due to take place on 18th November, performed by the Phoenix Theatre Group, which will probably have happened by the time you read this.

And, finally please come along and support our Christmas Fair on 7th Dec. We had to cancel last year due to terribly treacherous conditions. So let’s make up for it this year - there will be some fabulous Christmas hampers to be won, Charity Auction, a raffle, tombolas and many other side stalls plus Father Christmas in his sleigh and live Christmas music. Doors open 6.30pm on Dove campus, Harehedge Lane.

The de Ferrers Academy Parents, Staff and Friends Association is organising a number of events this Autumn:

PSFA AGM Monday 12th September at Trent Campus, St Mary’s Drive, 6.30pm
Year 7 Bingo Night Friday 30th September at Dove Campus, Harehedge Lane
Quiz Night Friday 14th October at Dove Campus, Harehedge Lane
Christmas Fair Wednesday 7th December at Dove Campus, Harehedge Lane

Also, the World Challenge Nicaragua Team 2012 is organising a Race Night to be held at on Saturday 15th October at de Ferrers Academy, Trent Campus, St Mary’s Drive. Tickets will be on sale in September from the school office.
