Pre-School sessions for children age 3+ are held at the infant site of John of Rolleston Primary School. Morning session 9.00-12.00, afternoon session 12.30-3.30. From January 2014 children in their Pre-School year will be able to stay with us throughout the day from 9am to 3.30pm. Spaces are limited. If you would like to register your child for pre-school or have any queries regarding sessions, please contact Lolene Poxon, Pre-School Manager on 01283 239209. Rolleston Playgroup - which was set up over 35 years ago - is organised by Pre-School and led by voluntary co-ordinators and members of the Pre-School committee, sessions are held in the Rolleston Club. Age Guide, birth - three and a half years: Tuesday, Friday 10.00am-11.30am (term time). The last half term has been full of fun and as always parents have been so supportive with all of our different activities, especially our book week with parents and grandparents coming to read stories. Our ‘Mark-Making’ session was well attended, we visited Paget Farm and Orchard with parents and we had lots of fun at the Pancake Races and Chocolate Bingo!
We have lots of activities and events planned over the next couple of months; plenty for families to get involved with…

If anyone would like to donate a prize or service to our ‘Auction Of Promises’, we would very much appreciate it. Great advertising and all proceeds go towards supporting our Pre-School. Please contact Pre-School if you would like to donate anything.
Rolleston Playgroup is suitable for children up to pre-school age. It provides an opportunity for children to play together and learn to socialise, sessions include creative and messy play activities which change weekly, free play, dressing up, quiet area with books, baby area and song time. A healthy snack and drink are also included for the children.
Playgroup urgently needs volunteers for our Tuesday and Friday sessions. If you can spare any time we would love to hear from you.

Fundraising
Unwanted clothes & shoes? As a registered charity, Rolleston Pre-School relies on fundraising to continue its valued service to the community. Please continue to donate any unwanted clothes and shoes; our recycling bank is in the Spread Eagle car park.
Are you having a clear out after Christmas? …If so and you have any safe clean toys that you no longer need we would really appreciate them at Pre-school. We especially need some pushchairs or prams, small world figures, children’s comic’s/magazines.
We would like to make some more musical instruments – do you have any old unwanted sauce pans,frying pans and wooden spoons.
For our tactile play any of the following would be greatly received: rice, pasta, spaghetti, shaving foam (NOT GEL), jelly, cornflour and flour.

Hello!
We started the New Year with 13 new children, they have all settled in well and it’s been lovely meeting them and their families.
Over the last few weeks we have been looking at “people who help us” and in our role play area has become a doctor’s surgery with a baby clinic. The children have enjoyed lots of visits from parents sharing their jobs including a nurse, postman, fireman, policeman and a lollipop lady. We have also been visiting the school hall to dance and move to music, creating our own musical instruments and mark making to music.
This year Pre-School will once again be hosting the annual Pancake Race on the Croft, followed by fresh pancakes, tea and coffee at the Rolleston club. Races for Pre-School Toddlers, Infants, Juniors, Adults and mixed groups. Teams of 4 people priced at £2 per team.
