Winter 2002 News
Our A.G.M. was held on the 7th October 2002, where we welcomed parents and new committee members.
Since the previous issue of 'Rollestonian' we have successfully applied to run a playgroup at the Chapel to accommodate the growing numbers of children registered with us. We were inspected by Ofsted on 2nd September and are now running for two mornings each week, rising to three mornings after Christmas. We are eligible to take children at the beginning of the term in which they reach three years of age. If you require any information on Playgroup or Pre-school please contact our registration manager Kim Owen on (01283) 239209.
We now have a brand new purpose-built storage building to store all of our equipment at
pre-school, which was purchased following a number of fund-raising events over a long period of time. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to these events.
We recently held our annual Chocolate Bingo, which was very well supported in both attendance and donations. We managed to raise a record amount of £192! Thanks to everyone.
On 24th October Tempest Photographers visited the Chapel schoolroom. A large number of people took the opportunity of having their children photographed, whilst at the same time supporting Pre-school.
They will be visiting again on Thursday 3rd April 2003.
At the time of writing we are preparing for our Nearly New Toy Sale on the 22nd and 23rd of November. We usually raise a substantial amount for Pre-school, whilst providing an opportunity to sell all of your unwanted toys.
In the final week of the school term we will be holding our Christmas events - the nativity at the Chapel and our Christmas party at school. Look out for further details on the Pre-school notice board.
On behalf of Rolleston Pre-school staff and committee we would like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Helen Hunt - Chairperson.
Cathy Hartshorn - Minister of Information.
Autumn 2002 News
Welcome back to everyone, following the summer break. During the summer term we raised £500 for Pre-school from our Sponsored Bounce, so well done to all the children and our staff. We also held our annual Funday, which was very well attended and luckily the weather was kind to us for once!
Our school leaver's visited Ash End House Farm in July, we wish them all well in their move to Primary School.
Some of you may have noticed that we have had some work carried out on the Pre-School site. Following a successful fund-raising year we decided to re-surface our play area and replace our old sheds with a purpose-built storage building. This has been made possible with a grant from the Local Member's Initiative Scheme, which was obtained by our County Councillor, Mr Frank Bather. The Pre-School committee would like to express their gratitude to Mr Bather for his help.
Our new shed will hopefully be in use by the middle of September.
Owing to large numbers of children registered at Pre-School we have applied to set up a Playgroup in the Chapel Schoolroom, which will run three mornings per week. We are awaiting a decision from Ofsted, but are hoping to commence sessions from mid September. Parents requiring more information should contact the usual Pre-School number.
Our A.G.M. will be held in October, a final date will be posted on our notice board at Pre-School. Anyone is welcome to attend to meet staff and committee members.
Coming up in October we have our Chocolate Bingo on Saturday 19th. This event was very well attended last year and proved to be a really fun afternoon. Anyone who would like to donate chocolate can do so from the beginning of October at Pre-School.
Our Pre-School contact number is (01283) 239209.

Summer 2002 News
In early May we organised a Sponsored Bounce, which we hope has raised a substantial amount of money for Pre-School and the N.S.P.C.C. We have decided that for this year's Community Day we will be having a craft stall giving the children an opportunity to do various activities and also a beanbag challenge with prizes.
As usual we will be holding a Fun-Day in July, as yet the activities have not been decided, so watch the Pre-School notice board for further information. We will also be having our annual school starters day trip to Ash End House Farm in July, again further details will follow.
Due to overwhelming numbers of children registering for Pre-School next September, we have had to restrict our sessions to children commencing school in September 2003. We wish to thank all parents for their patience and understanding during what we hope will be a temporary measure.
If you require any information regarding Pre-School please contact Kim Owen on (01283) 239209.

Pre-school will again be decorating a float and the children will be dressing-up for Carnival Day on Sunday 26th May. If any parents are willing to help it would be most appreciated.
