Autumn 2001 News
This year Pre-school have raised funds with the help of many parents for resurfacing the outside soft-play area. We were lucky enough to receive a Millennium Festival lottery award which enabled us to go ahead, the project should be completed by September. I should like to thank Mr J. Marshall for his constant support throughout this project.
The children took part in a special sponsored charity fund raiser for terminally ill children. The use of a bouncy castle was kindly donated by Ace Bouncy Castles of Stretton enabling us to raise several hundred pounds for this charity.
The older children starting school in September enjoyed a day out at Twycross Zoo, the weather was not too kind, but fun was had by all. Thank you to everyone who made this day so successful.
Term finished with Sports at the Scout HQ, great fun was had by all involved, I would like to thank the Committee and Staff for all their hard work.
Future events to put on your calendar would be the Chocolate Bingo on Saturday 6th October, AGM on Tuesday 16th October, 7.30pm in the Pre-school building, everyone is welcome, please come along for a coffee and a chat. In April, Pre-school will be taking part in a “Sponsored Bounce”, in aid of the children’s charity Happy Days. This charity provides leisure activities, holidays and days out for abused, disabled and terminally ill children. The event is due to take place during the week of 14th – 18th May, with the children from pre-school completing their sponsored bounces in their pre-school sessions. We would be grateful if anyone could provide pre-school, free of charge, a small bouncy castle for ‘bouncing purposes’ for the duration or part of the week. If you are able to help please contact Alison Warner on 01283 814634, any help would be gratefully received.
