Rolleston
Cricket Club is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) “Clubmark” accreditation. “Clubmark” is a national benchmark for high quality community club cricket, and to achieve the award, clubs have to go through a rigorous quality assurance process and be thoroughly vetted by their County Cricket Board. Whilst all areas of a club’s activity are inspected, there is special emphasis on the youth development programme and the welfare of junior members. Rolleston Chairman Bob James said: “We are delighted that we have not only been accredited, but have come
through the process with flying colours. Rolleston run four senior Saturday sides in the Derbyshire County Cricket League and a Sunday XI as well as junior teams, with a structured coaching and match programme run by qualified personnel at the Under 10, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17 age groups. New members, both senior and junior (boys and girls), are always welcome. More information can be found on the club’s website: www.rollestoncc.org.uk or from the Chairman on 07525 186979 |
Summer 2009 Newsletter
The 2009 season is now under way and so far the weather has been very good – let’s hope it lasts and is better than last summer.
The Club welcomes a couple of new players this year – Aafan Janjua, a batsman transferred from Derby Congs CC ( Aafan scored over 1000 runs in the League last season ) and Alex Showell – a very promising youngster from Hilton CC.
There is normally a match at Rolleston’s ground every Saturday and Sunday from now until the end of August and visitors are always welcome.
We have a few interesting matches that might appeal to you including a Derbyshire Over 60s game against Worcestershire Over 60s on June 2nd ( start 1.30 pm ) and a friendly against a team from Holland on July 14th ( start 2.00 pm ).
If you would like a full fixture card please contact myself ( details below ) or Michael Acton at the Club.
