Autumn 2004 News
Having drifted across the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger and spent time in the bookshops of Kabul, the members of Chapter and Verse are now in the company of Daniel Martin, courtesy of John Fowles. Daniel’s “autopsy” will take place on the 7th of September.
For October’s meeting the book choice is FUGITIVE PIECES by Anne Michaels. The final meeting of the year will be on the 1st of December, the as yet unchosen book will have a food theme, we are also planning to provide a buffet supper. There will be a light-hearted quiz to round off the year and give someone the chance to win a booktoken prize.

Summer 2004 News
Rolleston’s reading club is underway after its opening meeting. Twelve enthusiasts came along and decided on the start-up books. Our first read is “The Life of Pi” by Yann Martel, to be discussed on 14th June. The second title chosen by the group is “The Bookseller of Kabul” by Asne Seierstad and we shall be hearing each other’s views on that one on 20th July.
As you can see, there is plenty of good reading ahead for all tastes. Even if you haven’t joined yet, get the books anyway and let any of the members below know if you would like to come along and join the group. Everyone is welcome. Telephone Di on 813921, Maggie 812628, Gail 813356 or Heather 812118.
