Despite several site meetings and regular correspondence between the Parish Council and officers of ESBC over the last few years, it is with great disappointment that they have advised that there is no intention to remove the silt build-up from the historic fish pond. In addition, they remain satisfied that the existing maintenance schedule for Brook Hollows is satisfactory and will remain in place.
From a safety aspect they do not see the silt build up of concern and they have advised "there are “no swimming” signs around Brook Hollows and there have been extra life lines installed in 2012, both at the request of parish and with the Fire Services advice to ensure the right location of the life lines".
The Parish Council does not support the stance being made by ESBC or their policy which appears to support the loss of an historical feature identified as "highly important" to the village. We would therefore ask that you support the Parish Council by expressing your concerns in writing to Andy Mason, Neighbourhood Working Team Leader at andy.mason@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk or by post to East Staffordshire Borough Council, The Maltsters, Wetmore Road, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE14 1LS
