"Blot on the Landscape?"

It is several months since I did a feature on the Station Road development, but as the building work has progressed more and more people have expressed alarm and disbelief, and therefore I feel an update is required. I don't think anyone could have imagined how close the houses would be built to the edge of the main road and their appearance is not in keeping with the rest of the village. Ones hearts have to go out to the poor people on the edge of Meadow View (see above) - who are now dwarfed.

How can this be acceptable when the Home Office turned down an appeal to build a two-storey extension to a house in Abbots Bromley on the grounds that the development would adversely affect the character and rural setting of the village and result in neighbours experiencing a loss of privacy!
