Art Club News 2003
Newsletter - Winter 2003
The club is now well into its autumn programme of weekly themes. We have had an introduction into figure drawing with a model. Deb Walker has demonstrated to us the technique of painting watercolour wet into wet. Members are preparing for the club's annual show at the Brewhouse, which opens on November 29th. Also we are looking forward to our Christmas dinner at the Jinny!
If you would like any further information about the club and its activities please contact Price on 812184.
Newsletter - Autumn 2003
The Club has just finished its outdoor programme of sketching and painting in the surrounding villages. The Autumn programme will include demonstrations, figure drawing, and some topical themes, and appreciation of members work, which is the way advice and help is given. Also we will be getting work ready for our Christmas Exhibition at the Brewhouse. For more information please contact Ron Price on 812184.
Newsletter - Summer 2003
The club members are now embarked on the summer programme. From the 2nd June, when the weather permits they will be outside on a Monday evening sketching and painting following a rota of venues around Burton. Those who do not wish to brave the elements can meet at the Methodist Church School Room, Stretton, instead - as long as they arrive before 7pm.
The members are also preparing for an exhibition of their work to be held at the Guildhall, Derby. This runs from the 9th - 14th June. You can also see our work on Community Day, 7th June, and perhaps see framed and unframed examples, greeting cards, etc.
The club members are very disappointed at the conversion of the Brewhouse Downstairs Gallery into offices and are looking for alternative exhibition space in Burton for our November/December exhibition. The club has been told that alterations may take place at the Brewhouse allowing us to continue there. So watch this space!
The club membership continues to increase. If you would like to know more about the club or its activities please contact Ron Price on 812184.
