St Mary’s Church “Angels @ Advent”
Beatus Choral

As part of the "Angels @ Advent" event at St Mary's Church in Rolleston on Dove, the Beatus Choral returned to the village with a varied programme of old and new carols, readings and other items suitable for the season of Advent. As angels soared and swooped above their heads, a large and enthusiastic audience enjoyed listening to the sixteen strong choir and joining in some of the more familiar carols. 

The church had been decorated with over a thousand angels varying in size from a few inches to ten feet, but then what is "life-size" for an angel? They formed a fitting background for some quite angelic singing, urged on by their musical director, Terence Bailey, who even persuaded the audience to sing "Good King Wenceslas" in increasingly complicated versions of a four-part round. Expert and witty accompaniment was provided by John Hodson.
